5 Tips For Creating A Motivational Essay

A motivational essay is very desirable in a high school or college setting because it displays your power to use words – and your understanding of language. It also shows that you’re capable of communicating with people and can share your thoughts and feelings.

Step One: Pick Your Topic

Your topic should be something you’re passionate about. If you don’t care about your subject, it will be very difficult to write a motivational essay. Once you’ve chosen your topic, do some research and narrow down your focus. Try to come up with a unique angle on the subject. This will make your do my essay more interesting to read and more likely to motivate your audience.

Step Two: Think About What Motivated You to Choose Your Topic

Before you start writing your motivational essay, it is important to think about what motivated you to choose your topic. What inspired you to write about this specific subject? Was it a personal experience or a story that you heard? Whatever the case may be, it is important to reflect on why you were drawn to this topic so that you can convey that in your writing.

When thinking about what motivated you to choose your topic, consider the following:

-What are your personal experiences with this issue?

-What stories have you heard that have resonated with you?

-How does this issue affect people in your community?

-What solutions do you hope to offer in your essay?

By taking the time to think about what motivated you to write on this topic, you will be able to better connect with your audience and communicate why this issue is important to you. This will make for a more powerful and effective essay overall.

Step Three: Brainstorm Some Ideas for Your Essay

Before you start writing your essay, it is important to brainstorm some ideas. This will help you determine the main points of your essay and the best way to organize your thoughts. To brainstorm, you can use a mind map or simply write down a list of ideas. Once you have some ideas, try to narrow them down to three or four main points that you want to focus on. These points should be related to the prompt or question that you are answering. Once you have your main points, you can begin planning out your essay.

Step Four: Write the Introduction

When you have finished steps one through three, it is time to write the introduction to your motivational essay. The introduction is perhaps the most important part of your essay, as it will either engage the reader and make them want to read on, or bore them and make them put your essay down.

There are a few things to keep in mind when writing your introduction:

1. Keep it short and sweet. You don’t want to start off with a long, drawn-out introduction that will lose the reader’s attention before they even get to the meat of your essay. A good rule of thumb is to keep your introduction under five sentences.

2. Start with a bang. You want your opening sentence to be something that will grab the reader’s attention and make them want to read on. Avoid starting with dull, generic phrases like “In this essay, I will be discussing…” or “The purpose of this paper is to…” Instead, try something more interesting and specific like “What motivates us to do what we do?” or “What drives us to achieve our goals?”

3. Set the stage for what’s to come. In your introduction, you should briefly mention the main points that you will be discussing in your essay. This will give the reader a roadmap for what is to come and help them follow along more easily.

4. Hook the reader in. The last sentence of your introduction should be a hook that draws the reader in  and makes them want to read on. This can be a rhetorical question, a shocking statistic, or a powerful quote.

Here is an example of a strong introduction:

What motivates us to do what we do? Is it the desire to achieve our goals? The fear of failure? The need for approval? Or something else entirely? In this essay, I will be exploring the different motivations that drive us to action and examining how they impact our lives and our choices.

Step Five: Draft the Body Paragraphs and Conclude

After you have your thesis and your outline, it’s time to start drafting the body of your essay.

Each body paragraph should focus on one main idea that supports your thesis statement. Start by writing down one of your main ideas, in sentence form. Then, below that, write down all the smaller ideas that relate to that main idea. If you get stuck, ask a friend or family member to help you brainstorm some ideas!

Once you have your ideas for each body paragraph written down, it’s time to start filling in the details. Write in complete sentences and be sure to use evidence from your research to support your claims.

If you find yourself getting off topic as you write, go back and revise your outline so that everything in the body paragraphs ties back to your thesis statement

When you’re finished with the body paragraphs, it’s time to write a conclusion. Start by restating your thesis statement in different words than you used in the introduction. Then, wrap up the essay with a thought-provoking or memorable sentence that leaves the reader with something to think about long after they finish reading!

There you have it — five tips for creating a motivational essay that will help you achieve your goals. Just remember to keep your audience in mind, be clear and concise with your writing, and most importantly, stay positive! With these tips in mind, you’ll be well on your way to writing an essay that will leave your readers motivated and inspired.
